Still working on the blues........

Quick update, so yes I am supposed to be (self choice) busy working away on my piece for 'Ode to the Blues' - latest embroidery challenge.  However it's not a colour I work with very often.  Not that it's an excuse or anything

But ...

i have hit the wall - you know when you  can't get past where you are at with it!  So this past week I have done absolutely nothing with the needle at all.   I did make a small table runner on the sewing machine which gave me the feeling that I had achieved a little something.  The family got some nice home baking and yummy homemade hot soup, plus the garden got a look in as well, with some warmish weather for this time of the year.

So ....

after a little break from it - I think I am recharged and know the direction my item will now be taking.  Just got to discipline myself and get it finished.  I am trying really hard not to start something new (i always do which is a bad habit of mine).

Maybe the South Island just needs that cold winter weather and "the blues work"  will prevail!

Sounds cold and dreary!

Bring on Yellow - thinking summer, warmth, sunshine.........

Wyn's Book

Pictured is Wyn's Book that she made in my class at Wanaka.  She is about to embark on a trip overseas and I know she is planning to keep tickets and mementos from her travels.  This is where she will store them all.  Won't it be neat all filled and chunky! It will be a great record for her to have.
Happy and safe travels Wyn!

Blast From The Past!

Last weekend my local embroiders guild held a display for the public. One of the members brought along her antique iron collection.  I thought these were very interesting.  I am sure they have all been well used in their time - just imagine!  Luckily she was happy for me to take a few snaps.  There are tags hanging off each one to tell a little about it.   I do think the little dolls one is very cute.  I bet the dolly's always looked very smart!
